BIOGRAPHY

Originally from Winnipeg MB, now residing in Calgary AB since 1997, Craig enjoys an active and successful career in the music industry as both an educator, performer, arranger & Festival Adjudicator.

​

Craig studied with many highly regarded teachers throughout his youth. He continued on to the University of Manitoba, pursuing his musical education at the post-secondary level.  He continued his education at The Berklee College of Music in Boston studying, Jazz Arranging, Orchestral Composition, and Writing for Motion Picture and TV.

​

With over 25 years of teaching experience both privately and as a clinician, he has assisted many of his students in achieving their Royal Conservatory Of Music (RCM) designations with distinction. He has encouraged a large number of his students to continue on to the professional level.

​

In 2006 Craig co founded his private teaching studio (Time Music Studios), which to date educates 700 students between multiple locations.

​

In 2003 Craig accepted the position as Musical Director of a Calgary based big band association. In 2019 he accepted the Musical Director position for a 2nd big band association all of which his roles include, writing music for performance, new member auditions, and directing and coordinating rehearsals.

​

As a professional musician, in addition to performing across Canada with an array of different musical groups, he enjoys performing with many Calgary based bands i.e. The Prime Time Big Band, The Wednesday Night Big Band, and The Fox Big Band. As a band leader he leads his own groups of various sizes performing across Alberta.
